Poor Fern! Last Saturday she started having blood in her urine. This is not her first UT infection. Of course, the vet didn't EXACTLY listen, and checked her for kidney stones, tumors, and alien parasites. She wound up staying at the vet's for four days. (In fairness, the infection had actually spread atypically far.) I don't think she slept a wink at the vet's kennel. When I went to see her, she was curled up in the Rubbermaid tub in her kennel, glaring out. This is SO much more trouble than it looks like. Hope it tastes as good as it looks:
Cream: 16 oz of heavy whipping cream, 16 oz mascarpone cheese, 6T powdered sugar, 1.5t of vanilla extract. Beat cream until thick, add cheese, sugar, vanilla, beat till smooth. Load into piping bag.
I also needed another 8 oz. of whipping cream, 0.5t of vanilla, and 2T of sugar to top them off.

So, a couple of my co-workers got us an ExerSaucer saying, "trust us, you need this. This is just where babies go." So we took it, and a few weeks ago after she was showing that she really liked being on her feet, I put her in. Now this is her favorite spot in the whole house. I bet you're wondering why I have posted anything recently. Like any of my pictures from San Diego, or the new house. (notice how I am subtley stabbing in the excuses here).
Well, here's the big news in my life: 17.4 mm of our first child. Got the picture this morning. The only thing in my life that surpasses the diamond of Beth's engagement ring for sheer cost density ($/cc). Luckily, it's 17.4 mm AND GROWING, so that number will go down.

In case you ever wondered which cat is in charge in our household (I'm sure everyone does, at some point) you will note Jasmine, take her sweet time with dinner, which I had just laid out. Then notice Alice, staring oh-so-patiently at Jasmine, waiting her turn.

On one hand, I love this image because of all the colors, plus you can see the bump where we actually touched down.
On the other hand, I hate that you can see a double image of the engine nacelle, which I deliberately put in frame to show the nautre of the motion.

This is a two-second exposure as our plane was on approach into Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta. I love how they color lights at airfirelds.
So do my in-laws. They sell those lights.
